What defines a friendship? It is but a profound and devoted rapport that many a time stems from one’s childhood.
Yet, the relationship between Maciej and Kate encompasses much more than what one would call a friendship. The two truly are ‘acquired siblings’. They even happen to have saved each other’s contacts on their phones as brother and sister, respectively.
Maciej has been personally involved in the creation of the Merkaba Foundation to protect children’s lives from its onset.
When he traveled to the Podlasie region of Poland, Maciej visited the towns of Białystok, Supraśl and Krasne. Enchanted by the beauty of the region, he concluded there wasn’t a better place to create a sanctuary for the tormented children than Podlasie. With his inherent sensitivity, he indeed felt what had not even been planned at the point in time. His intuition was foretelling of what The Merkaba foundation would become.
The Merkaba Foundation, dedicated to the protection of children, is currently building the Ark – a Centre for Traumatised Children in the town of Supraśl in Podlasie region. Maciej has apparently been its Ambassador from day one and is actively engaged in the project.
