We are making the world better

Let us make the world a better place for children.

On March 22nd 2020, in a single moment, my rather modest perception of the world changed inevitably. That day my sister Magda sent me several materials to go through.
The nature of such shaped my life in ways previously unimaginable. I was at once confronted with a solution to a question. A question that always bothered my conscious: “Why are things the way they are, if all that people want is to live in peace, love and happiness?!”.

I knew I had to act in the light of information I was just exposed to. It was during “lockdown” hence I had more time to broaden my knowledge. I was indeed aware of many issues happening on a global scale. However one of them kept perturbing me, still. Child trafficking and exploitation of children for the most cruel purposes.

Having ‘taken in’ information supplied by my sister I shed many tears. I since developed a completely different purpose in life. I realised there still are things I can do to enhance other lives whilst completing my journey on planet Earth.

It all started years back, as we would save the lives of animals encountered on our path, from dogs, cats, cattle, horses to birds. On one occasion whilst travelling through Marrakesh we stumbled upon a poorly donkey. He was mercilessly braying from pain. We made the decision, on the spot ,to purchase the creature from its barbarous owner. We then found it a safe home. That is but one of many stories involving animals I could mention. You see, I was raised that way, to cherish any living being that is dependent on us, humans.

In 2011, our family adopted a young child Shaanti. He is now a rather energetic 15 year old with all the mood swings you would expect from a teenager. Shaanti’s story is one that ended with the happiest of tears. Let me tell you, that adopting him was a pinnacle moment of my family’s existence. To this day, our dear boy remains the reason why I continue pursuing things in life from the depths of my heart.

“What we’ve got to do is keep hope alive. Because without it we’ll sink.”

That however does not come without challenges. As a quadragenarian, I realise that some people do not follow in the same footsteps.

Shaanti has been through a tormenting childhood but with the help of my beloved sister and her husband Piotr, is managing to overcome his trauma. They have provided a safe home for him in the last 10 years. A question springs to mind: what should we equip our children with, so they are ready to leave the nest and face the real world?

Humans at their core strive for equilibrium and stability. Hence, we must teach our children to display certain values when they grow up. We must introduce them to the concept of individuality, as each of them shall contribute to this world with their own abilities. I am a firm believer that every person is born with a purpose and a unique set of skills. And, mind you, childhood is the period when one discovers the aforementioned talents.

The Merkaba healing centre for children has been a dream of mine for a long time. It never diminishes. Quite the contrary, it is expanding as days go by. My childhood, my life and the road ahead serve as evidence that my idea is soon to become a reality.

As a child, I spent many summer holidays with my beloved grandad Zdzislaw. We would stay in the town of Suprasl in the region of Podlasie, in the middle of Knyszyn woods. I recall it as the happiest time of my life; filled with moments of true bliss. I could run around meadows, bike across the forest or ride a horse… And all of it without the slightest care in the world. Growing up around nature was nothing but paradise with the realm of communism hidden behind tall trees…

By a twist of fate, Knyszyn will be the location of the Merkaba Healing Centre. I cannot wait to create a facility that will help all children in need.

Once, when exchanging messages with Mariola Piotrowska, the following was said:

“We are making the world better with our own hands that carry hearts.”

And so that statement has become our maxim.

With love,
